In general, all the teachings to be practiced are considered trainings in generating bodhichitta. But in particular, the trainings in the bodhichitta of aspiration are not to abandon concern for sentient beings through keeping their benefit in mind, to gather the accumulation(s) and cultivate the four immeasurables, and to adopt the four white and avoid the four black deeds. (see eight black and white deeds).

The trainings in the bodhichitta of application come in detail below (in The Light of Wisdom): the way of training in the six paramitas and the four means of attraction, comprised of the three kinds of training.
