Pratyāhara is essentially a meditative absorption ([[ting nge 'dzin]]) that is free from mental activity. In particular the connection is cut between the subject and object of the normal five senses of the eye and so forth, and the five objects of form, and so on. Pratyāhara is essentially a meditative absorption (ting nge 'dzin) that is free from mental activity. In particular the connection is cut between the subject and object of the normal five senses of the eye and so forth, and the five objects of form, and so on.
