Indestructible Reality (rdo rje)

  • The fully enlightened buddha-body, speech and mind are described as indestructible reality (Skrt. vajra). This suggests that the fruitional attributes of buddhahood are adamantine and indivisible, for they are invulnerable to all degrees of physical, verbal and mental defilement, and they are naturally and perfectly indivisible from the subtle energies which constitute the exalted body of a buddha. In the context of meditation, the buddha-body, speech and mind are visualised as seed-syllables in their respective symbolic forms OṂ, ĀḤ, and HŪṂ, which respectively mark the crown, throat, and heart centres of the meditational deity.
