1) A yojana is an ancient measurement which is not clearly defined, but it is more broadly held to be somewhere between 6.4 and 15 kilometers (3.9 to 9.3 miles), and most sources list it as being between 8 and 13.2 kilometers (4.9 to 8.2 miles); 2) leagues, fathoms, a measure of distance. One may or may not choose to be specific in terms of real-world length, depending on the context. Giving a general idea of how many kilometers/miles it roughly equates to can be helpful. By way of comparison, 1000 yojanas is a much further distance than 1000 kilometers/miles, for example, up to 15,000 kilometers or 9300 miles. [Erick Tsiknopoulos]
