Mind essence. (sems nyid), The nature of mind, synonym for 'buddha nature.' It should be distinguished from 'mind' (sems), which refers to ordinary discursive thinking based on ignorance. 'Mind essence' is the basic space from and within which these thoughts take place [RY]
