When opposed to 'rig pa,' it means the ordinary state of dualistic mind which is ignorant of its own nature and produces karma for further samsaric rebirth. Compare the difference (tha dad pa) from sems which through dedicated practice and fully altruistic application...(sems las 'das pa). [RY]
