(med) Zinc, Zn. Orth. variant : ti tshwa (Yeshi 2018).  ti tsha. Zinc. zur mkhar 'khrul bzhed ti tshar bzhed pa zha nye 'byung ba'i rdo. Zinc as proposed by Zur-mkhar-school. ti tsha'i rdo ser po mchog. Yellow superior zinc. dman pa dmar po. Red inferior zinc (Phrin Las 1987) ti tsha sngon po. Smithsonite, ZnCO3. ti tsha dmar po. Zinc. ti tsha ser po. Sphalerite, ZnS. ti tsha'i thal ba. Sphalerite ash. (Drungtso 1999). Sphalerite, also known as blende or zinc blende, is the major ore of zinc. When pure (with little or no iron) it forms clear to white crystals. Yellow to orange sphalerite is often called "golden sphalerite." Red shades of sphalerite are known as Ruby Blende. Smithsonite is often found as a secondary mineral in the oxidation zone of zinc ore deposits. It can also be observed in sedimentary deposits and as a direct oxidation product of sphalerite. Calamine is an early name for some secondary zinc minerals which often occur in intimate mixtures with each other. It could thus be best classified as a secondary zinc ore, typically replacing sphalerite.
