This is the RYI Dictionary content as presented on the site http://rywiki.tsadra.org/, which is being changed fundamentally and will become hard to use within the GoldenDict application. If you are using GoldenDict, please either download and import the rydic2003 file from DigitalTibetan (WayBack Machine version as the site was shut down in November 2021).

The Shel phreng describes 4 minerals in a single notice :
smug po sbal rgyab (identified with the iron oxides Hematite),
dkar po sbal rgyab (identified either with Wollastonite or Limestone / Stalactites),
dkar po chig thub (identified with either Gypsum / Anhydrite or Wollastonite) and
smug po chig thub (identified with Goethite).
Goethite is the most common simple iron oxide mineral, yellow-brown or red-brown to black with dull, silky or metallic lustre. A weathering product of numerous iron-bearing minerals. It may also form due to mineralization of lichen (Parmelia conspersa) thalli on metamorphics (e.g., gneisses), granites, feldspars (mindat.org)
