LKh: "release from the [protector] deities." This refers to the ritual performed at the time a new bride leaves from her ancestral home to move to home of her new husband. Before leaving the linkage between her and the families protector diety must be severed so that once she takes up residence in her husband's family home she can be entered into the protective circle of their protective diety. If the lha 'grol ritual is not performed it is thought that the two deities might conflict. [mss] [RY]
