Ngari Traksang (mnga' ri grwa tshang)
A large Gelukpa monastery built in 1541 under the auspices of the Second Dalai Lama Gedun Gyatso. It stands like a fortress on an eminence dominating the entrance of the Yon Valley. [MR]
