A Sanskrit term. According to Sanskrit source [http://webapps.uni-koeln.de/tamil] - a gift , present , goods , wealth , riches; a jewel , gem , treasure , precious stone (the nine jewels are pearl , ruby , topaz , diamond , emerald , lapis lazuli , coral , sapphire , Gomeda ; hence {ratna} is a name for the number 9 ; anything valuable or best of its kind, ie. an excellent son) ; a magnet , loadstone.

concealed treasures hidden in the earth, texts and objects rediscovered as continuing revelation, earth dharma treasures, earth terma, minerals, earth-treasure, earth treasures. (JV)

earth terma. Earth Treasure. A revelation based on physical substance, often in the form of dakini script, a vajra, a statue, etc. Compare with 'mind terma.' (RY)
