Khenpo Chönang (b. 1963), also known as Dzamthang Tulku Chökyi Nangwa, came to India from Amdo in the early 1990's. He studied closely under the late [[Ngawang Yonten Sangpo]], and now heads the Jonang monastery in Shimla/northern India where he educates approximately 100 young monks. Recently a retreat center for the practice of the six-limbed vajra-yoga of Kalachakra has been constructed near the monastery.
