A close student of the Bengali scholar and Siddha [[Vanaratna]] (1384-1468) and [[Gö Lotsawa Shönnu Pal]] (1392-1481). The name "khrims khang lo tsA ba" signifies his being a descendant of the family who were the caretakers of the "rnam dag khrims khang gling" temple, one of the minor temples of Samye monastery. His student, the [[4th Shamar Rinpoche]] Chökyi Dragpa Yeshe (1453-1524), authored a lengthy biography of the Lotsawa. [TSD]
