The householder Palkye; renounced his troublesome family life at the age of one hundred to became a monk. The novice monks used to tease him constantly about his age. Weary, he went to a solitary place and practiced with such diligence that he soon became an arhat and came, flying through the air, into the presence of Lord Buddha. There, at Jeta Grove, he became the teacher of the younger monks who had teased him. [MR] [RY]
