The Shel gong shel phreng distinguishes a superior and inferior type, but describes only the first one : it grows in plains in moist soils, has trifoliate leafs, small whitish-red flowers, deep red fruit and red stems creeping on the ground. Only strawberries have all the characteristics and are regarded as the superiour type, but other stoloniferous plants are mentioned in the literature (Kletter 2001)
