Choying Dorje, [[chos dbyings rdo rje]], (1604-1674). Due to persecution by various factions during the politically very unstable situation of his time, the 10th Karmapa spent many years of his life travelling disguised as a beggar with only one or two attendants. When, after many years, he could finally return to his seat at [[Tsurphu]], he became known not only for the extraordinary depth of his realisation but also as an outstanding artist.
