chu srin sder mo is elsewhere given as synonym for na gi, the pangolin. Drungtso identifies it with the Gharial, the fish-eating crocodile of the big river-systems of the north-indian subcontinent. It is one of the largest crocodilians in the world. Males have a bulbous growth on the end of their snout called a "ghara." Indian gharials are poached for their skin, meat, male gharas, and eggs. Gharials are also threatened indirectly through habitat destruction, and the populations have decreased dramatically since the 1930s (animaldiversity.org). <br>
