"Corvids. Raven, crows, jays, magpies, all belong to the raven family. Members with strong caracteristics like jays or magpies (skya ga) have their own name. bya rog is the raven, Red- and Yellow-billed chough are skyung ka. khwa ta are all black birds smaller than raven and not being a Blackbird (bya nag)" (David Holler, tibetbirds.com).
Common ravens prefer open landscapes, often found solitary or in pairs. Their cousins, common crows tend to be found in areas more affected by human habitation.
