The Swan goose (ngang dkar or ngur dkar) is less common in the wild, but gave the domesticated goose in East Asia. (In Europe and West Asia the domesticated goose derived from the Graylag Goose, Anser anser).
The Bar-headed goose is clearly shown in the Medical Thangkas. It is the most common wild goose in Tibet, with it's distinctive 2 stripes behind the head, unlike any other goose (David Holler, tibetbirds.com).
The Greater White-fronted Goose is largely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere. dGa' ba'i rDo rje gives the specific name ngang pa mgul khris. Johannes Schmidt (talk) 17:11, 22 February 2024 (EST)
