A generic name for parrot. In central Tibet probably the Derbyan Parakeet, ''Psittacula derbiana'' (David Holler, tibetbirds). Jam-dpal gives also '''[[khyim bya]]''' for a kind of black ne tso. <br>
A generic name for parrot. In central Tibet probably the Derbyan Parakeet, ''Psittacula derbiana'' (David Holler, tibetbirds). Also identified with Red-breasted Parakeet. Both have a similar coloration, but different areas of distribution. The first is found in montane moist forest, it is heavily captured for bird trade.The second is a lowland species. <br>
Paljor (2018) identifies the Red-breasted Parakeet (Psittacula alexandri) with ne tso. <br>

The Derbyan Parakeet is confined to a small pocket of moist evergreen forest in the hills of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh and the adjoining parts of Tibet. The species suffers from poaching for the illegal wildlife trade and fetches a high price in the black market. It is perhaps the rarest of all species of ''Psittacula'' in mainland Asia. <br>
Most of the subspecies of the Red-breasted Parakeet are confined to minuscule islands or a cluster of islands in Indonesia, only one extends along the foothills of the Himalayas. (avibase). <br>
