A very good description of basically all available Tibetan Inputs methods is given at the [http://www.thdl.org/tools/input.html THDL] project of the University of Virginia.

== Windows 2000 and Windows XP ==
*1-5. The five ever-present mental states are contact, attention, sensation, conception, and attraction.
[http://www.tavultesoft.com/ Tavultesoft] offers a commercial Tool, Keyman, which supports a number of different input methods for Tibetan. Starting with version 7, Keyman is no longer available for free.

A free input method, TISE, is available [http://thdl.org/tools/tise.html here].
*6-10. The five object-determining mental states are adherence, intention, recollection, concentration, and discrimination.

== Windows Vista ==
*11-21. The eleven virtuous mental states are faith, conscience, shame, conscientiousness, [[equanimity]], commiseration, exertion, pliancy, nonattachment, nonaggression, and nondelusion.
Vista supports a standard Tibetan input method as part of the operating system. No further software needs to be installed. A Tibetan keyboard can be enabled using "Control Panel / Regional and Language Options".

== Linux ==
*22-27. The six root disturbances are attachment, anger, arrogance, ignorance, belief of the transitory collection, and doubt.
* The [http://uim.freedesktop.org/wiki/ UIM package] contains a Wylie input method for Linux.
* The Dzongkha XKB keyboard, which is part of XFree 86 can also be used for typing Tibetan Unicode.
* [http://kmfl.sourceforge.net/ KMFL] enables keyboards developed for Tavultesoft's Keyman utility to be used under Linux.

== Mac OS-X ==
*28-47. The twenty subsidiary disturbances are envy, stinginess, hypocrisy, pretense, self-infatuation, lethargy, excitement, lack of faith, laziness, distraction, heedlessness, forgetfulness, nonattentiveness, hostility, lack of conscience, shamelessness, fury, resentment, concealment, and spite.
* [http://sourceforge.jp/projects/macuim/ MacUIM] is a port of UIM for Mac OS-X.

* Chris Walker has also created [http://www.tibetanportal.com/tibetanportal/pages/keyboards/macoskeys.html Unicode Tibetan Mac System Keyboards].
*48-51. The four variable mental states are regret, sleep, concept, and discernment.

Among these, the forty-nine excepting sensation and conception and the nonconcurrent formations such as names and attributes, are what perform the function of samsara and nirvana.

The nonconcurrent formations which are neither matter nor [[cognition]] are: acquisition, serenity of cessation, conceptionless serenity, nonconception, life faculty, birth, aging, subsistence, impermanence, group of names, of words, and of letters, regular sequence, definitive distinctness, connection, link, number, sequence, location, time, and gathering.
