red ochre [RY]

(med) Ochre (Phrin Las 1987). See yug and sin dhu ra for Red ochre. A name given to a great variety of earthy minerals, usually mixtures of fine-grained oxides/hydroxides. Mostly Iron ochre, but also Antimony Ochre, Bismuth Ochre, Lead Ochre and Molybdic Ochre (mindat.org)
(med) Laterite, Iron oxide Fe2O3 (Yeshi 2018) Synonyms : ge ri ka, tum ya, le rgan me tog (Yeshi 2018). Red residual soil developed in humid, tropical, and subtropical regions of good drainage.
