The Wild boar (Sus scrofa) is a cosmopolitan species of Eurasian origin. Their length is up to 240 cm and weigh up to 270 kg as adults, having a coarse coat from black, brownish-red to white. They are found in a variety of habitats, but avoid extreme heat or cold. Deeper snows and frozen ground inhibit their ability to forage for roots and foliage (animaldiversity.org).
