sindhura. Red or deep orange substance often used in tantric rituals. Syn si 'dur ra. [RY]

(med) Limonite, Iron(III) oxide-hydroxide (Phrin Las 1987, Yeshi 2018), Yellow ochre (Drungtso 1999). Synonyms : rgya mtsho'i breg pa, mkha' 'gro'i mnyal khrag, rdo mkhris, rdo'i mkhris pa (Yeshi 2018). Hydrated iron(III) oxide-hydroxide : gru bzhi (Drungtso 1999, Yeshi 2018), brgya rdo, zhang blon bla rdo (Yeshi 2018)
