Hello again Bj...well, this took a bit of figuring and utilizing the templates (I hope you don't mind my doing this as an example for you), but, as you may see now, no matter whether the search for Khenpo is made in an English-based search, Extended Wylie, OR in Tibetan Unicode...the categories have been made appropriate to each search. The result of the search regardless of the format it's entered in, will now link to and show the precious Khenpo's page. This is also in keeping with the standard of editing and posting which we're developing for this rather phenomenal work.

On the Main Page there's instructions and an invitation to join our Google Group(s) of RYWiki Developers, and another one for the RYWiki Editors Group. We discuss formating and use of templates and whatnot between editors/developers/contributors at these two groups. To subscribe to either or both, here's the links to send to: DharmaDictionarynet-editors-subscribe@googlegroups.com; and DharmaDictionarynet-developers-subscribe@googlegroups.com --Richard 21:19, 26 July 2008 (EDT)

  • O man that is so GREAT! This is part of what I was asking about the last time. Please where is it I can get the instructions for doing this? Or how did you do it?

Reply to Bj...

If you open the 'sandbox' (which is what the edit page with 'Save page'/'Show preview'/'Show changes' at the bottom is called) for each page, you can see how the link brackets and templates are arranged. The templates which look exactly like this - {:example word, words or name go here} are all important because they allow the entire content of whatever page to be copied. In this instance, the original page which was used was the Khenpo Jamyang Gyaltsen page which you graciously provided. The Khenpos name which is the original title page appeared in the template brackets after the colon.

You can play around with it, testing your results by using the 'Show preview' button, which allows you to see the page as it will appear prior to saving it with the Save page button. The pages you want to look at for the template and 'linking brackets' order and placement is to enter the edit mode on both the mkhan po 'jam dbyangs rgyal mtshan page and the མཁན་པོ་འཇམ་དབྱངས་རྒྱལ་མཚན། page. That should give you an idea of the direction you may want. Once you get used to it after having done it a couple times, it gets pretty easy and quick. We really need to use the 'Show preview' button to make sure that the results are what we want prior to saving. If you decide to not change it or the ordering of it doesn't provide the results you may want, simply click on the Cancel link and it will return the page instantly to the condition it's in prior to entering the edit mode. --Richard 02:11, 27 July 2008 (EDT)
