Tshabtsha Monastery in the Lingtsang region of Kham/Eastern Tibet; it used to be a branch of Palpung monastery, the seat of the Tai Situ Rinpoches, though it eventually became much larger than Palpung itself, housing over 1000 monks in its heyday. Presently there are about 400 monks in residence. It follows the Karma Kagyu and Shangpa Kagyu traditions [TSD]
