(med) Eagle, Aquila chrysaetos ? (Phrin Las 1987). glag, A bird which resembles an eagle, but smaller than the vulture and larger than the hawk (Drungtso 1999).
Golden eagles (Aquila chrysaetos) have a Holarctic distribution in open and semi-open habitats up to 3600 m (animaldiversity.org). The subspecies Aquila chrysaetos daphanea, Himalayan golden eagle or Berkut, distributed from the Caucasus along the Himalaya to Bhutan and China is the largest and second-darkest subspecies. In Tibet, golden eagles inhabit high ridges and passes in the Lhasa River watershed, where they regularly join groups of soaring Himalayan vultures (Gyps himalayensis) (wikipedia).
