1) purple, dark purple, violet, lavender, lilac, plum, grape, mauve, mulberry; 2) dark red, velvet red, brownish red, reddish brown, maroon, burgundy, bordeaux; 3) dark brown, dark grey. Generally this color means "(dark) purple" or "velvet red", but sometimes it is used for other dark shades and hues. Short form of smug po. ET

Southern slopes of the Himalayas to South-east Asia in tropical forests at elevations up to 3000 meters. They are highly arboreal (animaldiversity.org).
