skyar mo, the Little Egret, a small, snow-white heron, is found in wetlands. The small and compact Cattle Egret is seen more often in drier habitats than other egrets, following large animals or agricultural work. chu skyar, the relatively small Black-headed Gull is common and widespread across Eurasia, found frequently in great flocks.
The name skyar mo denotes egrets and herons, but the images in 'Phrin-las and 'Jam-dpal differ considerably. Neither image in the Medical Thangkas shows an egret or heron. 'Phrin-las (23_090) is quite unspecific, and (33_063) recalls a grebe, maybe a Crested grebe. 'Jam-dpal's image accords approximately with an egret, but the given synonym chu skyar denotes usually gulls.
