Short description

Constance Wilkinson has a BA from SUNY at Old Westbury (Planting Fields Experimental College) and a MFA (creative writing/poetry) from Sarah Lawrence College. She worked for Betty Kray at the Academy of American Poets in New York, and founded and ran an experimental theater, Kukuryku, in New York City, for many years. She wrote, taught and performed at the Cloud Chamber and at theater festivals in the USA and Europe, such as the Dusseldorf Schauspielhaus and the Munich Theater Festival.

She attended the Vajradhatu Vajrayana Seminary of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1982 at Bedford Springs then studied and lived in Nepal from 1984 to 1993 with a number of distinguished Tibetan refugee teachers. She taught English at the American English Language Institute in Kathmandu, studied Nepali at Tribhuvan University, and Tibetan language at the Marpa Institute of Translation in Boudhnath. She also worked as a writer for Nepal Traveller, Asia Travel Trade, and as an editor for development projects.

She is now a licensed psychotherapist specializing in treating chronic complex PTSD.
