'bo dkar rin po che (1940-2004)

A well known meditation master of the Shangpa Kagyu and Karma Kagyu schools, born in Western Tibet. He was the main student and lineage holder of the previous Kalu Rinpoche and served as the retreat master (sgrub dpon) in Rumtek, the seat in exile of the 16th Karmapa, for many years. He spent many years in Sonada, not far from Darjeeling, in Kalu Rinpoche's monastery, and has made his own seat in Mirik/Darjeeling District, in recent years. Apart from his many Tibetan students, Bokar Rinpoche had many Western students as well and traveled the world frequently.
