Pagsam Wangpo was favoured by the powerful Tsang ruler Phuntsog Namgyal (1597-1621) and eventually recognised as the official incarnation in Tibet. [[Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal]] went to Bhutan and established his lineage there.
