The [[Phagdru Kagyü]] lineage (phag gru) was established by [[Phagmo Drupa]] Dorje Gyalpo (phag mo grub pa rdo rje rgyal po, 1110-1170). His lineage was to be continued by the Lang (rlang) family. Shugseb Kagyu
The Shugseb Kagyu lineage (shug gseb) was established by Gyergom Chenpo Zhönnu Drakpa (gyer sgom chen po gzhon nu grags pa, 1090-1171). He was the founder of the Shugseb monastery in Nyiphu. Their teachings were based on the various Doha cycles, spiritual songs of realisation by Indian masters such as Saraha, Shavaripa, Tilopa, Naropa, Maitripa etc.
