Quasi red turquoise. drug dkar 'dra ba'i gyu sngon. Quasi white turquoise. rgya g.yu. Chinese turquoise (Phrin Las 1987). Ferric iron substitution may cause the color to be green. Most of the gem material labeled "turquoise" is inhomogeneous and planerite (of the turquoise groupe, which can be white) is the most common constituent in commercial "turquoise" (mindat.org).
