Gangteng Sangngak Chöling Monastery is one of the most important Nyingma monasteries in Bhutan and a center of the Pema Lingpa tradition. It was established by Gyalse Pema Thinley (1564-1642) the first Peling Gyalse or Gangteng Tulku who was considered to be the combined body and activity emanation of Terton Pema Lingpa.
