*It seem that because the 1st Palpung Khyentse was born to the Beru (''Be ri'') King, that he was sometimes known as Beru Khyentse, which it would seem spawned a new line formally known as the Beru Khyentse or Palpung Beru Khyentse. But this is a preliminary statement as this point, because this is a lot of discrepancies between the information that the present Beru Khyentse and the Palpung Monastery have to offer.  Though there is no doubt there both talking about the same Tulku with regards to the 1st Palpung Khyentse.[BL]<br>

1st Palpung (Beru) Khyentse Rinpoche

Brief History[edit]

Once, Jamyang Kyentse Wangpo (1820-1892) had a talk with the 10th Palpung Tai Situ. He said, "I fail to do any help for your dharma teachings this life, but, certainly I would like to make a wish to contribute my next life generously to your dharma activities."

Palpung Khyentse (1896-1945),or Karma Khyentse Ozer, considered to be the main speech incarnation of the great Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, was born as the son of Gonpo Dudul, the ruler of Beri in Trehor, a close disciple of Jamgon Kongtrul. Because of his origin he also became popularly known as Beri or Beru (be rus) Khyentse.

A few years after his birth, the Palpung abbot came to see the child with another Lama, they offered many precious gems and a ‘khatak’ (white scarf signifying auspiciousness) to him. They then escorted the child to Palpung Monastery where Situ Pema Wangchok and the abbot Khenchen Tashi Ozer performed an enthronement ceremony for him. .
