Limonite (Iron(III) oxide-hydroxide) is used as a field-term of unidentified massive hydroxides and oxides of iron, with no visible crystals, and a yellow-brown streak. Limonite is most commonly the mineral species goethite, along with impurities of other minerals such as quartz and clays. A very common material in the oxidized zones of iron-bearing deposits (mindat.org). See also sin dhu ra. <br>
