Five Terton Kings (gter ston rgyal po lnga), Five King-Like Tertons.


One list of the Five Terton Kings contains

  1. Nyang Ral Nyima Ozer (1124-1192),
  2. Guru Chokyi Wangchuk, Guru Chowang (1212-1270),
  3. Dorje Lingpa (1346-1405),
  4. Pema Lingpa (1445/50-1521), and
  5. (Padma Osel) Do-ngak Lingpa, Padma Osel Do-ngak Lingpa (Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo) (1820-1892).

Sometimes the list also includes the great terton Rigdzin Godem (1337-1408) [RY]
