The Chinese Pharmacopoeia prescribes 3 species for the drug snakeskin : 1. Elaphe taeniura Cope, 2. Elaphe carinata (Guenther), 3. Zaocys dhumnades (Cantor). All are ratsnakes, non-venomous constrictors of rodents.
