Terton Sangye Lama: (1000-1080); the first terton; known for rtsa gsum dril sgrub, rediscovered by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo; the first terton; also called 'dro 'dul sangs rgyas bla ma [RY]

Regarded as the first of the 100 tertons and also the first of 13 terton incarnations of rgyal sras lha rje. Contemporary of the great translator Rinchen Zangpo. Main terma was rtsa gsum dril sgrub, which was received as a yang gter by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. [RY]
