The name chab 'dren gzhon nu (syn.) is mentioned in the Khrungs dpe gser snye without detail. However, a popular saying among teachers of the Lhasa sman rtsi khang says that it's fruit looks like a capsized boat made of hide (Dawa 2009)

In the Shel gong shel phreng, gla ba srad ma (synonym to gza' dud dkar po) is cited as one of the nine types of srad ma. Elsewhere, gza' dud smug po is considered equal to gza' dud dkar po, with only the color of the flowers differing : dark purple-red for smug po and yellow flowers for dkar po (Kletter 2001)

srad ma coincides with different forage plants of the legume family, whereas sran ma conincides with pulses for human consumption, like peas and lentils.
