'jol mo is considered a general name for larks by David Holler, thus identifying Hume's Short-toed Lark, Calandrella acutirostris tibetana, with 'jol mo. Drungtso (1999) gives finches. mjol mo, a word which does not appear in the general dictionaries, is given by him for Laughingthrush, common in Tibet (f.ex. mjol mo chu ser, Plain Laughingthrush, Garrulax davidii). In the Lhasa region often the Brown-cheeked Laughingthrush (David Holler, tibetbirds). The images are closer to Laughingthrushes than the other propositions.
