vātayāna¦, window: read in Mv iii.122.5 (vs) kūṭāgāre pithita-vātayāne, with v.l., for text °pāne. The word = Skt. and Pali vātāyana, and might stand for that m.c.; but it could also be an equivalent cpd., vāta-yāna, way for air (otherwise unrecorded).
