A ti sha

(982-1055). Perhaps the last of the universally acclaimed masters of Indian Buddhism, he was extremely influential in Tibetan Buddhism, as he spent the last seventeen years of his life in Tibet, bringing many important teachings and aiding in the work of correction of teachings translated earlier.

Atiśa Dīpaṃkaraśrījñāna (982–1054 C.E.), often referred to in Tibetan as {jo bo}, "(The) Lord," was a renowned figure in the history of Tibetan Buddhism famous for coming to Tibet and revitalizing Buddhism there during the early eleventh century.
