Moonstone is a trade name for any white feldspar with a blue schiller. A groupe of very common rock-forming minerals, of which Plagioclase gemstones are moonstones (phenomenon known as "adularescence" : a white-to-bluish light that floats under the surface of the stone when it is turned under a source of light). A commercial synonym is Chandrakanta (candrakanta, suryakanta and sphaṭikā are the 3 types of crystal).
