1) gem or jewel but in particular 'gemstone'; 2) precious gem(s), precious gemstone(s); 3) riches, bounty, etc. Here, if nor is 'wealth' then dbyig could be 'riches'. Hence this term really has two meanings, 'gemstone' and 'riches'. This is somewhat similar to the etymological nuances of rin chen. [Erick Tsiknopoulos]
