Drala or Dralha are a class of dynamically active beings in Tibetan and Bön cosmology, usually invisible to ordinary perception, who function as warrior spirits or protective agents. They inhabit the air element and are often associated with heroic vigor, courage, inner life-force, and the protection of Dharma practitioners. Functionally, they act as protectors, guardians, or heroic figures, most notably forming the retinue of King Gesar, and are invoked to overcome external or internal obstacles. Internally, they correspond to subtle energies within the human body, especially the life-force (la) and its dynamic movement, which can be increased or harmonized through ritual practice.
