Synonyms : mchod rten na bza' (Shel gong) sa dkar, dkar rag, rdo dkar (Yeshi 2018) sa rtsi (Das 1902).
Skt.: śveta mṛttikā (Dash)

Natural earth medicine. Whitewash is a solution of slaked lime (Calcium hydroxyde, Ca(OH)2). With the Carbon dioxide in the air it transforms slowly into calcium carbonate or lime. It is the latter which is used. For the rock limestone see cong zhi.
