Prionailurus bengalensis is one of the most widespread carnivore species in Asia, found in tropical and temperate forests, coniferous forests, shrub land habitat, and grasslands. Its distribution is limited to areas with less than 10 cm of snow annually, and it is not found in steppes or arid climates (animaldiversity.org).
