Drungtso (1999) gives 'a small yellow feathered bird with red stripes on the head'. 'I don't know such a bird in Tibet. The closest would be ser 'jol, a Goldcrest, a greenish bird with a yellow-orange crown. It is supposed to be present in Tibet, but rather East-Tibet' (David Holler, Tibetbirds.com).
The image in the Medical Thangkas recalls a gamebird like a peahen rather than a small bird.
